Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data we collect on this website, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

Joining The Meursault Club

When you join our list, we collect your email address and the time and date you gave your consent. We use it only to send you news about Meursault: the launch, early access to new pieces, events and our recommendations. We confirm your sign-up with a second email (double opt-in), so nobody can sign you up without your knowledge.

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email, or by writing to us. We then delete your address from the list.

Event invitations

When you ask for an invitation to The Meursault Evenings, we also collect your full name, postal address and, if you give it, your favourite place for an evening. We use this only to send you printed invitations and to plan our events. We do not sell or share it. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Where sign-ups are stored

When you send one of our forms, your details are stored with our hosting provider Netlify (Netlify, Inc., USA) so we can see and answer your sign-up. Netlify processes this data on our behalf. Data transfers to the USA rely on standard contractual clauses.

Our email service

We send our emails with MailerLite. Your email address, and for event invitations your name and address, are stored with this service on our behalf, under a data processing agreement. MailerLite may record whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, so we can see what interests our members.

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by an external provider. When you visit, the server automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit. This is needed to deliver the website safely. The data is not used to identify you.

Fonts

This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google servers, which can transfer your IP address to Google, including to the USA.

Spotify player

Our playlist player loads from Spotify only when you press play. From then on, Spotify receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Spotify's privacy policy.

Links to other services

Links to Spotify, Instagram and Google Maps open those services in a new window. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Cookies

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies itself. Spotify may set cookies once you start the player.

Your rights

You have the right to know which data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to info@meursault.club. You can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or the data protection authority in your EU country.

How long we keep data

We keep your email address as long as you are a member of the list. Server logs are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them for security.
